Weekly Events for August 12-14

We are excited to welcome students back to school for our 20-21 school year.  Thank you for being so patient while we try to keep up with the ever-changing requirements and concerns for reopening school.

You should have received a call from our superintendent explaining that we will begin the school year with in person attendance for the first eight days following mandatory safety precautions.  During this time, teachers will prepare students for the transition to virtual/distance learning.  We will begin Phase 1, distance learning on August 24th.

For families that have requested Independent Study from our website, you may pick up the work for your students on Monday or Tuesday to get credit for attendance. The work will need to be returned by August 24 to receive credit.

Per Public Health guidelines ALL TK-8 grade students are required to WEAR a MASK when arriving at school, traveling about campus, and departing school.  3-8 grade students must wear a mask throughout the day.   K-2 grade students may remove their mask while in the classroom.  Masks may be removed when eating, drinking, engaging in physical activity, or changing the mask.  All adults will wear masks throughout the day.  Everyone will practice social distancing.

Students that do not have a mask will be offered a mask.  If they deny wearing a mask, they will not be allowed to remain at school.  Please write your student’s name on their mask.

We ask that parents screen their child for illness/symptoms at home. If your child has any symptoms, please keep them at home and notify the school.

District transportation will be available to and from school for those initial 8 days.  Student’s riding the bus will be required to wear a mask and will have assigned seats.  Bus routes and times along with class assignments will be posted on our office windows by 4pm Tuesday.   You will also find bus routes and times posted on our school website.

Students should bring their school issued Chromebook and charger with them to school, charged and ready to use.  Since drinking fountains will not be used at school, we ask that students bring a water bottle with them and use our filling station or classroom faucets to refill their bottles. Please put your child’s name on their bottle.

To support safety and follow health guidelines, our school campus will be closed to outside visitors.  All visitors to campus must enter via the office.  Only students will be allowed to enter the campus through the RAMS Den gate.

Once on campus students may go to the cafeteria for breakfast or if they ate at home,  they should proceed to their classroom.  Classroom lists will be posted in our center quad area for students.  To reduce mixing of class cohorts, our playground will be CLOSED in the morning.

The campus will open at 7:15 for students to begin arriving.  6th- 8th grade will begin school at 7:45 and K-5th grade begins at 8:00.  To reduce the gathering of students and adults, we have created the following schedule for dismissal:

  • Students that walk home will dismiss at 1:55.

  • Parent Pick Up will begin at 2:00.

  • Students riding the bus or attending SAILS will be dismissed at 2:15.

(Please note on Monday we will dismiss 1 hour earlier)

If you are picking up your student, please line up in our parent pick up line near the flagpole and remain in your car.

Please remember that all students entering the 7th grade must have their t-dap immunization and all new kindergarteners will need to be current on their immunizations.

If you have not completed the K-2 grade BUS form on our website, please do so ASAP.
